Visual Hierarchies for Web Trading

A case study on how we defined visual hierarchies and organized data structures to establish clear relationships between modules, catering effectively to both intermediate and professional users.

Context

AngelOne's mission to empower retail investors across India presented a unique challenge: web platforms are often favored by proficient users with advanced trading knowledge, but India saw a growing number of intermediate users transition to web platforms to support their portfolios. In this project, I explored how we can strike a balance—ensuring the platform wasn’t oversimplified for pro users or overly complex for intermediate users, using visual design.

Project Structure

I led an effort to establish the AngelOne Web Trading design architecture. I partnered deeply with a senior designer and the engineering team, over the course of 2 months to research and validate and eventually ship the product.
